Answer: June 19, 1865. Yes, the name was sitting right there in Juneteenth. Do not act brand new.
Question 2: What Texas city is known as the birthplace of Juneteenth?
Answer: Galveston, Texas. Freedom news pulled up to the island, and history said, remember this location.
Answer: Union General Gordon Granger. He came through with General Order No. 3 and changed the whole room.
Question 4: What year did Juneteenth become a U.S. federal holiday?
Answer: 2021. Took long enough, right? But now Juneteenth is officially on the federal holiday calendar.
